no updates here in a while huh. i've been ok. i mean really i've been stressed about job-related stuff and other stuff but like what else is new. what is more immediately important is: i have reached the next stage in my voltex journey. it feels good to have made it this far and i'm looking forward to going even further. have definitely been feeling my skills improving. especially with one hand stuff. speed / power / jacks i'm still very struggling with but that will come more easily in time. it feels good looking back at my progress up to this point. i've gone through the 15s, 16s, 17s to get here and now i'm working through the 18s. and after that is 19s which is really wild to think about. really creeping up towards the hardest stuff in the game. be a while before i can clear any of those but. in a while i will be there! and that's exciting. short-term reaching vf 18 (aka eldora) really just means i'm gonna spend a lot less time grinding s ranks on level 17 charts and more time getting new clears on level 18s. happy about that because 1) grinding the same handful of songs over and over isn't really fun 2) i get to play stuff i've not ever played! exciting! i'm also just glad i won't be tempted to care about volforce number go up for a decent while. bc like idk for me it's like if i see i Can get it to go up then it's like yeah lemme get that number up. i might as well it's not that hard. but after ranking up the point gains are gonna dry up for a while so it's chilling time all the time. my number is gonna stay at 18.001 for a while and it's like chill. i'm not expecting vf 19 anytime before like. at least 8 months from now lol.
what about other stuff outside voltex... i'm reading good yuri. i finished 麻衣の虫ぐらし (mai no mushi gurashi) or as i call it when talking to friends simply "bug facts". i really really enjoyed it! kinda similar to "she likes to cook she likes to eat" it hit me way harder than i was expecting from the premise. the way they tie so many different insects into the themes of the story is really incredible. definitely recommend you check it out. i'm also reading 嫌われた魔女令嬢と男装王子の婚約 or uhh idk im too lazy to romaji or translate the title. it's the one with the pink hair girl born with dark magic and the cross dressing prince girl. i'm about 2/3 through the second volume and it's really good i think. i've been thinking more about alloting time in my day to reading light novels and not just manga. want to elevate my reading skills to: actual books of mostly text lol. this line of thinking brought on by the release / announcement of like 3 more adachi and shimamura lns. really interested in 999. the yuri ln volume not the vn. as far as games i'm playing "white cat adventure team" - a chinese developed indie rpg with cute main character sprites and a story that has me pretty interested. to the point that i have to finish it before returning to ys x nordics which also is excellent. i also started the castlevania dominus collection with order of ecclesia / 奪われた刻印 bc it was listed first despite apparently being the last in release order , lol. and it's fun but really challenging! enemies and especially bosses will kill you very quickly if you aren't able to avoid their attacks. the art and particularly the text being pixelated ds graphics threw me off initially but after adjusting it isn't really hard to parse at all. it's been interesting playing this one After having played bloodstained ritual of the night because it's very apparent that so much of bloodstained including its main character has roots in this game. though i'm sure it has stuff from the other iga-vanias i still haven't played too lol. i will definitely check out the other ones, probably in the order of... ecclesia -> portrait -> thenn aria and dawn of sorrow. and then the other gba ones. oh i started junkoid the metroid romhack as well. it's nice to play a nes metroid but with a map and the ability to actually save. though it does feel that having a map really does completely change how that game feels. but the hack itself is cool. need to play more of it but i have a lot of game on my menu atm so it could be a bit. i wanna play space funeral.
